Changan Auto is About to Give Tesla Competition in China

Tesla has been working hard to gain a solid foothold in China with sales coming in far less than expected. Elon Musk was reportedly ready to start firing people if the situation didn't change because the launch had been handled so poorly. Now he faces competition from China's Changan Auto which is about to launch their own electric sedan. The four-door electric is set to make its official debut at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show on April 20th. What we have now is just this one teaser image of what we can expect to see later this month (seen above). It also looks like there is a two-tone finish with possibly a silver body and a black hood, although, this is just a teaser so it's hard to tell on purpose. Power will come from an electric motor with 167 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque and Changan Auto says it can do 0-62 mph in 4.12 seconds. No other details have been released, but those should be available once the car debuts in Shanghai.
