No one looks forward to the morning commute. The entire process is long and frustrating. The HOV lane offers some small relief if you can find another person to carpool with, but make sure that the person is an actual person rather than a cardboard cutout. A particularly creative driver in Washington decided he'd try to beat the system and place a cardboard cutout of a human in his front seat, presumably because he couldn't find a real human. He even went so far as to put a shirt on the cutout and buckle it in because safety matters. He also chose a rather familiar face to use as his human stand-in to help avoid a ticket. Who knew they even made life-size cardboard cutouts of this guy? The owner was caught by the state police using the HOV lane illegally and officer Guy Gill slapped him with a $124 ticket. He also snapped a photo where you can see the driver smirking. When you're busted, you're busted. The officer's tweet of the image was absolute perfection.
