New Ford Focus RS Won't Be Here Until Next Spring

For the longest time, Ford kept the Focus RS a strictly European car. Even though every journalist and enthusiast begged Ford to bring the hot hatch over, Ford stayed stingy. However, with the launch and the huge success of the much loved Focus and Fiesta ST, Ford saw that it could be time for the RS to finally come to the Colonies. And it did. This year in Geneva, Ford launched the all-new Focus RS, a vehicle that Ford finally decided would make its way stateside. With more than 315 horsepower and all-wheel drive, the new Focus RS is bound to be an enthusiast’s wet dream. It even has a ridiculously named drift button that lets you pretend you’re Ken Block. But your drift dreams might take longer than you were hoping. That's right— next Spring. Thankfully, Ford won’t let a year go by until we get to see the Focus RS on our shores. Ford announced that we will get to whet our appetites a bit with its debut next week at the New York International Auto Show. We're also hoping that Ford will finally release the rest of the new Focus RS’s specs in New York, so stay tuned.
