James May Supports Jeremy Clarkson in Hilarious 'Top Gear' Fashion
In case you haven't heard, Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended by the BBC for allegedly punching a producer on set, and there's a petition with over 700,000 fan signatures hoping to get him reinstated. But after all is said and done, Clarkson's TV cohorts say they still support the brazen co-presenter and they're doing it in typical Top Gear fashion, which is to say, hilariously. News reporters flocked to co-presenter James May's front door hoping to get an interview, but it wasn't exactly the scoop they were expecting on Clarkson. Take a look. The reporter inquires, “Do you support Jeremy?” May replies, “In many ways no, I've said many times before the man is a knob, but I quite like him. It's all getting a bit ridiculous.” After being asked what he recalls about the fight, May humorously chimes, “Not very much, I was blind drunk. No further comments, sorry.”
It isn't exactly the shining example of conflict mediation, but May's comments fit the Top Gear style quite well. In fact, if this were one of the show's "how hard could it be" car challenges, you could almost imagine May abandoning Clarkson on the side of the road... knowing that he'll get the problem figured out and be on his way in no time at all.

Co-presenter Richard Hammond has kept a bit of a lower profile during the recent events, but took some time to joke with James and Jeremy on Twitter about TV options in place of this Sunday's cancelled Top Gear episode, citing BBC sitcom Last of the Summer Wine as good choice.
