Citroën has thrown its hat back into the SUV ring with the revamped C3 Aircross and its electric sibling, the е-C3 Aircross, now available for order in the United Kingdom. Starting at £20,240 for the petrol version and £22,990 for the electric, these models aim to offer budget-friendly options in the competitive SUV market. A quick look at the market shows the zero-emissions version is cheaper than the Hyundai Inster, which starts at £23,495 for the base model. Full pricing is available below.

Bear in mind the new C3 Aircross has undergone a significant transformation, boasting a more assertive and muscular design. Measuring 4.39 metres in length, the five-seater variant provides ample interior space, especially in the second row. The boot offers a generous 460 litres of storage, expanding to 1,600 litres with the rear seats folded flat.

For those with larger families or a penchant for carpooling, Citroën introduces a seven-seater option – a first in this segment, though don’t think of it as a proper three-row family hauler. The third row of seats offers enough room only for children and even in that case, the boot is only enough to fit the parcel shelf.

The e-C3 Aircross features a 113 PS motor paired with a 44 kWh battery, delivering a range of up to 188 miles on a single charge. Notably, it can recharge from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in just 26 minutes using a 100 kW DC rapid charger.  An extended-range version with a larger 54 kWh battery pack is anticipated later in 2025.

For those not ready to make the full leap to electric, Citroën offers a mild-hybrid, 136 PS powertrain as an alternative. This system enables fully electric driving for nearly half of urban journeys and recharges the battery during deceleration. Additionally, a Turbo 100 petrol engine is available, featuring a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine coupled with a six-speed manual transmission, serving as the entry-level motorisation in the lineup.

In the UK, the C3 Aircross comes in two trims: Plus and Max. The Plus trim includes 17-inch Aragonite diamond-cut bi-tone alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a reversing camera, and the Visibility Pack, which offers features like automatic rain-sensing wipers and follow-me-home lights.

The Max trim adds front and lateral parking sensors, a heated acoustic windscreen, a bi-tone roof, blind spot monitoring, integrated fog lights, LED rear lights, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger, and others

With orders now open, deliveries of the new C3 Aircross and e-C3 Aircross are expected to commence in late spring.
