Here's Your First Look at the 2016 Audi R8

Audi's pavement-pounding R8 has been on sale since 2008. Though there have been some significant mechanical changes over the years, the sports car's overall design has stayed relatively the same. We hope you like it. Ahead of its official debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Audi has revealed the first images of the 2016 R8, and it looks more 'evolution' than 'revolution.'  But that's not to suggest it isn't an eye-catcher. Front and center, Audi is highlighting the R8's new LED headlamps, which will feature high intensity laser diode high-beams as an optional extra. The technology, which allows twice the lighting range as LEDs, first appeared on the firm's R18 e-tron quattro Le Mans racer, and then made its road car debut in the limited-run 2015 Audi R8 LMX (pictured below). However given that the R8 is the sister car to the 2015 Lamborghini Huracan, it will adopt the Lambo's composite chassis structure and is expected to carry over its V10 engine, albeit in a slightly lower tune. A photo of what was rumored to be the new R8 recently surfaced, and although the headlights are clearly different units, the rest of the car's front-end styling looks markedly similar.
