2016 Cadillac ATS-V Is As Quick As BMW, But Cheaper

If you were looking for an American car to take on the likes of the BMW M3 and M4, look no further. Cadillac announced today that the ATS-V coupe will start at $61,460 and the ATS-V sedan will start at $63,660. Not surprisingly, those prices just barely undercut the BMW M3 sedan and the BMW M4 coupe. It's almost like Cadillac was like, "yeah, the M-Series cars are nice, but the ATS-V offers the same package for cheaper." Yeah, cheaper, by $540 (M3 starts at $62,000, M4 starts at $64,200). It has a twin-turbo V6 that puts out 455 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual with Active Rev Match, or an eight-speed automatic. That's good for a 3.9-second 0-60 time and a top speed of 189 mph. The ATS-V also comes with GM's third-gen Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo brakes, and a variety of additional aero for added downforce. So, the question remains: Can the Americans compete?
