New 2015 Ford Edge Sport Packs More Punch

The 2015 Ford Edge Sport is a largely unheralded crossover that has been flying under the radar since its introduction last June. That could change. It could be considered a sport utility vehicle because of the performance numbers just announced. The five-passenger crossover will now put out 315 horsepower, a 10 percent improvement over 2014, and 350 lb. ft. of torque. That’s a whopping 25 percent jump that should make the Edge a screamer when the accelerator is stomped down. It’s the same one offered in the Ford F-150 but with the power dialed down a little bit. But the more powerful engine’s not the only welcome enhancement for the Edge Sport. Its coil springs are 10 percent stiffer and it has 20 percent less body roll. You might actually be able to drive this one hard through the curves. It also gets enhanced damping for more control and better steering. RELATED: See Photos of the 2011 Ford Edge Sport Ford is hedging its bets somewhat on the 2015 Ford Edge Sport. It’s only going to whack you an additional $500 for the horsepower and handling improvements. It has announced the MSRP as $38,100. That’s a $10,000 bump over the standard Ford Edge. I get to drive the new model next month in Arizona. I’ll report back then if it’s the performer it seems to be. _____________________________________ Click Here to Read the Original Article on BoldRide
