Hyundai collaborates with Nvidia on artificial intelligence

The partnership covers both cars and the use of technology in the factory

All companies are increasingly focusing on artificial intelligence. It is a global phenomenon in which the automotive sector is one of the most involved. Hyundai Motor Group is experimenting with the use of artificial intelligence in key areas such as robotics, autonomous driving and smart factories, and has just announced a strategic partnership with Nvidia to accelerate the steps.

This agreement "will strengthen our leadership in AI-based mobility innovation," said Hyundai Motor Group Executive Vice President and Head of Global Strategy Office, Heung-Soo Kim.

Autonomous driving, but not only

The Hyundai Group already has several AI initiatives under its belt, and this collaboration will further strengthen the application of the technology in strategic products such as Software-defined Vehicles and robotics, as well as business operations.

Through this agreement, the Korean group will use Nvidia's accelerated computing solutions and Nvidia AI Enterprise software to manage the large amounts of data used to develop AI models for various applications.

More and more robots in the factory

To improve production efficiency and quality while reducing costs, the auto group will use the Nvidia Omniverse platform to develop physical AI applications and digital models to simulate its factories. Nvidia's Isaac platform will instead be used to develop advanced robots with artificial intelligence.

"Accelerated computing, generative artificial intelligence and the Omniverse platform are opening a new era for mobility. This partnership will help create safer and smarter vehicles, make manufacturing more efficient and higher quality, and facilitate the introduction of advanced robots to achieve a smarter and more connected digital workplace," said Nvidia's Vice President of Automotive, Rishi Dhall.
