Nissan Reveals 2016 Maxima and GT-R LM Nismo LMP1 in Super Bowl Spot

Nissan is making its money work hard during today's Super Bowl. In its new commercial, titled "With Dad," both the 2016 Nissan Maxima and the advanced GT-R LM Nismo LMP1 were seen fully uncovered for the first time. The look of the redesigned car shouldn't come as a huge surprise. If you remember, the 4DSC (four-door sports coupe) concept car was a clear preview of what to expect with the next-generation Maxima, and it's translated well. The boomerang headlights don't seem as dramatic, but the shape is still sort of there, the angular V-shaped nose is still there, the creases along the body are there, and even the small gap in the C-pillar is there. Expect a full reveal with lots of photos and official specs soon. RELATED: Can You Really Drive a Nissan GT-R Every Day? The second important and notable vehicle shown in the 90-second tear-jerker is the GT-R LM Nismo LMP1. The new Le Mans racer is innovatively set up as a front-engined, front-wheel-drive hybrid. It has a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo paired with a "kinetic energy recovery system." It will compete in the LM P1 class in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
