A time of great change is coming for Porsche. The German manufacturer is preparing to present its first electric 718 Boxster and Cayman, as well as the first battery-powered Cayenne.

These models have already been announced, but in the course of 2025 we may get a better understanding of the plans of the brand, which has admitted that 'the transition to electric cars is taking longer than expected'. The focus is mainly on the Macan, which for the moment is only proposed as an electric model, but could also become combustion once again in the near future.

While we wait to find out more, here are the expected innovations.

Both based on the PPE platform jointly developed between Porsche and Audi, the electric Boxster and Cayman will have a traditional look, although they should feature the four-element headlamp graphics seen on the Taycan and Macan EV.

Rear- and all-wheel-drive versions and power outputs above 500 PS are expected. The adoption of a different battery than that of the Macan is likely, which at 95 kWh may be too large for two-seater sports cars.

What do you think?

Testing of the new generation Cayenne, which will be offered with combustion, plug-in hybrid and even 100 per cent electric motors, began a few months ago. Porsche's technical basis will be the updated EPP platform with 800 Volt architecture for ultra-fast recharging.

The V8 will remain on some versions, revised to meet new emission limits. There is no official word yet on performance, while the unveiling is expected to take place in late 2025.
