Jaguar F-Pace is the Brand's First SUV

In 2013, Jaguar debuted its C-X17 crossover concept – a striking five-seat CUV with a somewhat ambiguous name – to rave reviews from fans around the world. Fast forward two years and now Jaguar's director of design, Ian Callum, says the firm will bring that concept to reality in the form of the all-new F-Pace.  And this is it, well...this is its rear bumper. “The Jaguar F-Pace, inspired by the F-Type,” commented Callum, “represents a perfectly judged balance of style, performance, and practicality. The F-Pace is our family sports car.” Though we only have a glimpse of the production F-Pace, the five-seat crossover is expected to borrow significantly from the lines of the 2013 C-X17 concept (pictured below), and is set to be revealed later this year in time for a 2016 on-sale date. The F-Pace sports Jaguar's “Instinctive All Wheel Drive” system and “All Surface Progress Control”, which no doubt borrows the off-road expertise from across the corporate ladder at Land Rover. The crossover also sits on Jaguar's lightweight aluminum architecture and tacks on a variation of the firm's advanced suspension setup, seen under the all-new Jaguar XE. The XE similarities likely don't stop there. Although unconfirmed, the F-Pace's interior is expected to borrow more styling cues from the XE's cockpit, which is certainly a good point of inspiration. Jaguar's Ingenium four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines will likely find a home underneath the F-Pace, and the possibility of a V6 option looks promising.
