World's First Convertible Tesla Model S is For Sale

In 2011, Tesla Motors stopped taking orders for its debut model, the beloved Roadster, leaving few options for those seeking electric power and drop-top style. But that didn't stop one company from turning the firm's other car, the four-door Tesla Model S, into a convertible.  Last year, California's Newport Convertible Engineering chopped the top off this Model S, a procedure that Huntington Beach's ABC 7 reports cost upwards of $29,000. That car recently resurfaced on eBay. However, it will cost you quite a lot more cash to put it in your garage. According to the ad, the Model S packs every option that the factory offered at the time of purchase, including the higher performance P85+ package, which has been discontinued in favor of the speedy dual motor P85D. The convertible roof operates automatically, though we wouldn't exactly say it's the prettiest drop-top out there, especially with the awkward roof hoop midship. If the mileage reading is correct, the car has barely even been broken in, showing a scant 500 ticks on the odometer. All things considered, you certainly won't find another one cruising around your neighborhood.
