Here's What It's Like to Own a Local Motors Rally Fighter

A lot of rally cars are in no way legal to drive on the road, but the Local Motors Rally Fighter is the exception. This one belongs to Russell White who not only ordered the street-legal car, but built it with his own hands. White lives in Texas and made the trek to Chandler, Arizona, and actually put together his Local Motors Rally Fighter at the plant. It took him about 30 days and $100,000 before it was ready to drive home. Although it's completely street legal, his favorite place to drive it is off-road where there are no other drivers to slow him down and get in the way. Yeah, this thing really does need to be off-road where it can let loose. White says he often has no idea what's coming around the bend, but that it's part of the fun and excitement of owning this kind of vehicle. It also has 20" of suspension travel so whatever is hiding on the road ahead likely won't be a problem. RELATED: See The 2014 Local Motors Nascar Concept by Andre Costa
