Loyal Dog Chases the Ambulance Carrying his Owner
Dogs are known for being man's best friend and this little guy proves it. When his owner became ill and was taken away in an ambulance, his dog ran along side as it drove to the hospital. It all happened in Goiana, Brazil, and involved a homeless man who had an epileptic seizure. One of the paramedics captured the dog on video as he ran for all he was worth so that he wouldn't be left behind. Celiomar Ferreira do Couto was the 42-year-old paramedic who captured the dog's journey and was amazed at the pup's loyalty. He spoke to the Mirror about the experience saying, "I've been doing this job for 19 years and I've never seen anything like it." RELATED: See Photos of a 1917 Ford Model T Ambulance
Often, he said, when there is a pet the animal is too frightened or shy for paramedics to approach and sometimes run away. This was the first time he'd ever seen a pet so incredibly loyal and unwillingly to be separated from his owner.
The ambulance eventually slowed down and convinced the dog to come inside where he sat next to his owner for the rest of the trip to the hospital. He then accompanied the stretcher into the hospital and continued to stay loyally by his owner's side after the paramedics drove away.
