This Street-Legal Hybrid Supercar Needs Crowdfunding
Egoista Motors has nothing to do with Lamborghini, but they do share Italian roots and the desire to build incredible cars. Egoista is a start-up that is hoping to create an F1-style supercar that will be available as an electric or hybrid and will be completely street legal. They have already built a working prototype called the EM01 Stradale which definitely looks the part in pictures featuring their CEO, Luca Fazzi, driving it around the streets of Italy. There's also an Indiegogo campaign that seeks to raise $100,000 to take the car from concept to production. RELATED: See The 2013 Lamborghini Egoista Concept
There are no specific details on just what exactly is powering the EM01 Stradale but they do have a list of expected goals laid out on their campaign page. They're shooting for a top speed over 186 MPH, 0-60 time of 3 seconds, and a range of 186 miles as an electric or 280 miles as a hybrid with a range extender.
The figure that really stands out is the price. Although they liken themselves to Tony Stark and even feature him on their campaign page, they are aiming to sell this for a price anyone could afford. Their target starting price is $9,999 which isn't just affordable, but downright cheap. The campaign started on Dec. 9 and so far has raised just over $4,000. Looks like they could use a little help from Tony Stark's bank account.
