Glickenhaus Aims to Beat Ferrari With SCG 003 Supercar
Over the past few months, Jim Glickenhaus has teased us with snippets of information and vague photos of his upcoming supercar. Now, just in time for Christmas, we finally have full pictures of it out on track. We love when our stockings are filled with racecar photos. For those of you that don’t know Glickenhaus, he's the creator of the Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarnia. That car — a one off coach built creation — is based on the underlying architecture of a Ferrari Enzo and was hugely impressive. Later came the P4/5 Competizion based on the F430 Scuderia. And now comes something even more special. RELATED: See Photos of the Pininfarina Ferrari P4/5
Enter the SCG 003. Harking back to the golden age of racing, Glickenhaus wants to show up to LeMans with a road car, do a bit of wrenching, race it, then hop back in and drive it home. Hopefully not wrecking it along the way.
The SCG 003 will have two engines— a race engine and a touring engine. Both will be a plug and play, making it easier for the owner to convert from road to race, and then from race to road. The team is using a HPD Honda twin-turbo V6 race engine and a twin-turbo W12 for the road.

It’s a rather ambitious plan. Hopefully he can overcome the many hurdles facing him and we can see yet another great creation from from the mind of Glickenhaus. The SCG 003 will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015, and go in to race in the 24 Hour of LeMans.
