Watch a Valet in a Corvette Do 50MPH in a Parking Garage
It really was just a matter of time before some valet got caught messing around behind the wheel of a new Corvette. It was also just a matter of time before that valet got totally busted thanks to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR). We're sure it's really hard to be handed the keys to luxury cars and just drive them sedately to a parking spot while the owners go off to enjoy their dinner or a show. The temptation to have a little fun has got to be overwhelming, and when this valet gave into that temptation, it was recorded by the PDR and uploaded to the Internet for the whole world to see. The incident happened with a valet at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California. The driver activated the Valet Mode before handing the guy his keys and, at first, all seems to go well. He calmly navigates through the street to the garage and begins winding through it to a parking space. This all changes when he gets to a level without any other cars.
He brings the Corvette to a complete stop, and floors it, taking it up to 50 mph in the parking garage. We have no audio because California is one of the thirteen states where audio can't be recorded without a person knowing, but you can pretty much imagine the whooping and hollering happening at that moment. I'd imagine what he's saying now would require a lot of bleeping.
