Challenger vs. Horse: See a True Horsepower Battle
Sure, it’s been done before on Top Gear USA. But we just can’t resist when someone says, “Hey, let’s race a horse against an American muscle car and let’s see who wins.” Heck, if nothing else, we admire folks willing to slap down cold hard cash just to see it happen. You gotta admire people with deep pockets willing to see a horse get its butt kicked. RELATED: Watch Cop on a Horse Nab a Motorcyclist
Can’t say we’re huge admirers of this particular video beyond its production values. After all, you never know if the horse or the car won. All AlxRacing, who posted the video on YouTube will say is, “Lets just call it close.”
There’s no sense of distance or speed. You have no way of knowing if the driver goes full bore. Apparently the horse does because the rider loses her cowgirl hat.

By the way, top speed of a quarter horse is up to 55 mph. Top speed of the Dodge Challenger in the video has to be above 175 mph with a 0-60 time below six seconds. How could a horse stand a chance unless it’s an eighth-of-a-mile or shorter?
The interesting thing to note was “Car vs Horse EPIC drag race - American Muscle” was an Official Selection London Motor Film Festival 2014. That’s apparently a real thing that was held Dec. 5 in, well, London. Unfortunately the horse race wasn’t among the winners best we could tell.
