Five years have passed since the debut of the fifth- generation Toyota Supra. During this five-year period, the Japanese sports car has won over more and more enthusiasts around the world, so much so that it has become a real desire object, and in view of the new model year, it has now been renewed in many mechanical components. 2025 will be its final year on the market.

It starts with a more effective limited-slip rear differential and goes on to new reinforced suspension arms combined with new angles. And for those who want the ultimate, the new limited A90 Final Edition version is also scheduled to arrive in Europe in spring, signalling the end of the production is near.

More refined

Let's start by saying that the upgrades Toyota has planned for the Supra for the new year only concern (at least for the moment) the version equipped with the 3.0-litre B58 engine of BMW origin.

To make the sports car more dynamically satisfying, the Japanese engineers first of all added a new active rear differential control system, optimised to reduce understeer during cornering and improve handling.

Then they added new Brembo oversized 374 mm diametre front disc brakes, coupled with new more responsive electronically controlled shock absorbers and oversized, reinforced anti-roll bars.

But that's not all, because to fine-tune the handling in corners, the engineers finally decided to replace all the rubber bushings with new reinforced elements at the same time and to completely revise the toe-in and camber angles.

Also on the outside

Turning to the aesthetics, the designers decided to add a new carbon-fibre rear spoiler, new flaps on the front wheel arches, and new alloy wheels painted in matt black.

Inside, on the other hand, the two seats have been upholstered in Alcantara and genuine leather with "GR" embroidery, and contrasting red stitching has been added to the knob, gearstick headset and steering wheel.

The special A90 Final Edition

Together with the announcement of the presentation of the new Supra, Toyota also took the veils off the very special A90 Final Edition version for Europe, which evolves the Japanese coupé even more.

Starting with the mechanicals, the most important difference of this version compared to the standard Supra is certainly the increase in power from the standard 387 bhp and 500 Nm to 435 bhp and 570 Nm: values obtained thanks to a new, more open intake and a new, more pushed engine map, and which have required the addition of two anti-movement oil bulkheads in the lower sump. There's also a new Brembo front braking system with 395 mm discs and new specific rims with new tyres in the differentiated size 265/35 ZR19 at the front and 285/30 ZR20 at the rear.

What do you think?

To better manage the increase in power, Toyota then chose to remove the standard setup and install a dedicated KW set-up under this special sports car similar to that of the GT4 racing versions. To complete the package, there are several dedicated aesthetic details and a completely revised interior with new materials and Recaro Podium CF seats with Alcantara upholstery.

The company has not yet divulged the prices of the two Supras for the UK market, what is certain, however, is that the two cars will both arrive during Spring 2025, with the A90 Final Edition in a very limited number of just 300 examples for the entire European continent.
