2016 Toyota Tacoma Revealed, At Least Part of it
There’s always a bit of brand rivalry among popular cars, but up the ante to light pickup trucks, and whoa there – you’re in for a war of words. Truck owners love nothing more than to denigrate their peers on their choice of pickup. However, opponents of the 2016 Tacoma will have to look pretty hard to find fodder, because there’s not much to go around. This is the new 2016 Toyota Tacoma … at least the part Toyota wants everyone to see before it debuts in Detroit on Jan. 12. And despite what little we all know about it, we can determine three things. In Toyota’s own words, it’s an “all-new” model – finally putting to bed the Tacoma we’ve enjoyed for the past decade. It does indeed have a bumper. And it vaguely looks like the new Tundra. RELATED: Take a closer look at the 2015 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Series
Do you agree? Both models feature a similar creased tailgate, stamp-effect lettering, chunky vertical taillights, and – at least on this model – color-matched bumpers. Frankly, it’s an attractive behind.
Next month’s Detroit show will also bear witness to another big reveal in the truck world – the 2016 Nissan Titan, complete with Cummins diesel power. Add in an appearance from the new Colorado and Canyon twins, and it ought to be truck-tastic time in the Motor City.
