The much-awaited electric Puma will be the main focus, but in 2025, there will also be space for a new version of the Capri.

What will Ford in 2025 be like? Mainly electric. Among the most eagerly awaited new models from the American manufacturer are a new version of the Capri, the battery-powered Puma, and the plug-in hybrid version of the Ranger pick-up.

In addition to these models, many American and European media are talking about the arrival of a new model based on a multi-energy platform.

Ford Capri

Ford Capri (2024)

The Capri range will be completed in early 2025 with the introduction of the entry-level variant. This version is equipped with a single rear-mounted 170 bhp engine coupled with a 52 kWh battery, which should allow a claimed range of around 230 miles in the WLTP cycle.

Performance is lively, with a 0-62 mph sprint of less than 9 seconds.

New Ford on multi-energy platform

Ford Focus ST Edition (2024)

Ford Focus ST Edition (2024)

Its name and positioning are not yet known, but this mysterious new Ford could be one of the most important new models for the company in 2025. This is because it will be based on a multi-energy platform, capable of accommodating electrified combustion and 100 per cent electric powertrains. An ideal solution to propose a model capable of intercepting the needs of many motorists.

There is talk of a return of the Ecosport, but also of a possible successor to the Focus, which will go out of production in the coming months. We just have to wait and see what the American company will do next.

Electric Ford Puma

It is probably Ford's most anticipated model of 2025. After the success of the combustion version, Ford hopes to repeat it with the electric model that will challenge cars like the Jeep Avenger and the Hyundai Kona. The technical details of the electric Puma have not yet been announced, but it is likely that the car will have features in line with the rest of the segment.

We envisage versions with a single front engine of over 130 bhp, a 40-50 kWh battery, and a range of around 250 miles. It is not excluded that Ford will introduce other versions at a later date, perhaps more powerful and identified by the sporty ST badge.

Ford Ranger Plug-in Hybrid 2025

What do you think?

Previewed at the IAA Transportation in Hanover last September, the first Ford Ranger plug-in hybrid will arrive in early 2025. The American truck is equipped with a 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine combined with a 75 kW electric motor and a battery with a net capacity of 11.8 kWh. In total, the pick-up delivers 279 bhp and 690 Nm of torque through an all-wheel drive system, with the ability to travel 28 miles on electric power.

The payload is one tonne, while the maximum towing capacity is 3,500 kg.
