Watch How Fast This Hennessey Yukon Denali Hits 60MPH
Outright speed knows no boundaries. The folks at Hennessey Performance understand that (and probably could make a 190 mph Mazda5 if they wanted to). That's why, in addition to cranking up the horsepower on exotic cars you can never hope to own, they boost the type of cars see every day. The new 2015 GMC Yukon Denali is one such vehicle. In the crafty hands of Hennessey, it’ll now jet from zero to 60 mph in a slight 4.5 seconds and through the quarter mile in a swift 13.1 seconds at 110 mph. Don’t believe us? See for yourself. Whereas the standard Denali summons 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque from its 6.2-liter EcoTec3, Hennessey Performance cranks those figures up to 665 horsepower and 658 lb-ft thanks to a 2.9-liter supercharger. That whopping blower is complemented by a high-flow intercooler, retooled cylinder heads, custom camshafts, and a new engine management tune.
Weighing in at 5,700 lbs., the Yukon’s performance is a bit like watching a hefty guy smash Usain Bolt’s sprinting records. But for the family looking to shave minutes off their daily school run, the Hennessey HPE650 Yukon Denali might be worth a look.
