Three EV innovations (but not only) are in the cards for 2025 from Citroen. The Double Chevron brand is preparing for the facelift of the C4 and C4 X, as well as the debut of the second generation of the C5 Aircross, which will also be battery-powered for the first time.

Alongside the electric versions, there will also be mild hybrids, while in the spring, we will see the first deliveries of the restyled Ami.

Citroen Ami racelift

Citroën Ami (2025)

The Citroen Ami, the French electric quadricycle launched four years ago, is preparing for a facelift coming in 2025 that will bring several aesthetic changes.

The front end features a new body-coloured bumper, circular headlights with black eyelash details and a sloping section under the windscreen incorporating the new Citroen logo. There are also new door and wheel graphics, while the interior should remain unchanged.

There should be no updates to the powertrains, with the restyled Ami carrying over with the 8 bhp electric unit with a claimed range of 46 miles and a top speed of 28 mph.

Citroen C4 and C4 X facelift

Citroën C4 (2025)

Citroen C4 and C4 X receive a restyling four years after their launch, introducing aesthetic, technological, and mechanical updates. Both versions adopt a design inspired by the 2022 Oli concept, with a new Double Chevron logo, three-element LED headlights, and 18-inch Amber aerodynamic wheels. The interior gets Advanced Comfort seats and an updated dashboard with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a colour head-up display, and a 10-inch central screen with 3D navigation and ChatGPT support.

The engine range includes mild hybrid versions with 100 and 136 bhp, complemented by electric variants with 136 bhp (50 kWh battery) and 156 bhp (54 kWh). Range reaches 258 miles for the C4 and 264 miles for the C4 X, with fast charging up to 100 kW. V2L technology for powering external devices is also planned, available from 2025 with a dedicated accessory.

What do you think?

Previewed at the Paris Motor Show by a concept, the new C5 Aircross will be based on the Stellantis Group's STLA Medium platform, positioning itself as a rival to models such as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Hyundai Tucson. The design assumed in our render should be inspired by the prototype, with taut lines, slim two-tier headlights, an aerodynamic front grille, and a squared-off rear end with a wide tailgate. Compared to the current model, the SUV will grow in size, reaching a length of 4.65 metres.

The engine range will be comprehensive, with mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid and, for the first time, a 100 per cent electric variant. The latter is expected to offer power outputs of up to 320 bhp (with two motors) and a range of over 310 miles, sharing technology with the Peugeot e-3008 and e-5008.
