Lexus Planning Two World Premieres For Detroit
Fans of Lexus will likely be pleased when the Detroit Auto Show rolls around in January. It looks like they'll be having not just one but two world debuts at the show. The news comes right from Lexus Group Vice President Jeff Bracken in a recent interview. He spoke to WardsAuto while in Los Angeles about how well the brand is doing in the US this year. They expect annual sales to exceed the 300,000 mark by the end of the month since December is traditionally very strong for the brand. Bracken went on to say that they would also be debuting at least one and possibly two new vehicles at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this January. As to exactly which cars we'll see making their world debuts in two months, he wasn't quite so forthcoming. It's a good bet that one of them will be the next generation RX. This midsize CUV was last redesigned back in 2009 and is set for a relaunch sometime in either 2015 or 2016.
The second vehicle could turn out to be something a lot sportier, perhaps the high-performance GS F fitted with the RC F's 5.0-liter V8 but tuned to hit around 500 horsepower instead of the usual 467 horsepower.
