Why Buy a Koenigsegg When You Can Buy This Volkswagen Golf?
Have you ever wanted to set your hair on fire? Jump off a cliff with a pig attached to you? Run with the bulls, naked? No? Well, then society might classify you as a sane human being. However, the car we are about to show you was built by someone who probably would have answered yes to all of the above. In other words, they’ve lost their minds. Why? This car comes from the company Asgard Performance, and that names perfectly suits the company’s ambition with this car. For those that aren’t up to date with their Norse Mythology, Asgard was the home of Thor, the God of Thunder. He wielded a mighty hammer to strike down all that came before him, and that’s what this car is. It’s a hammer
Asgard first stripped the car to a mildly insane 1,990 lbs, which, with a normal Golf motor, would still make the car incredibly fast. However, that's when then put the twin-turbo Lamborghini engine into the lightweight hatchback. But it’s no longer making 500 horsepower Lamborghini rates the engine at. Rather, the shop tuned it to an explosive 1,500 horsepower. That’s essentially strapping a Saturn V rocket to the back of a horse.

As far as I can tell, no one’s been brave enough to actually put the pedal down on the car. Seeing as it almost has the same power to weight ratio as a Koenigsegg One:1, that's understandable. Although, if Asgard ever desperately needs for someone to put the hammer down, I would happily open up my calendar. Wonder if it can turn corners though?
