No Scion FR-S Turbo Probably Means No BRZ STI
I know, we were all pretty disappointed when we found out that Scion wouldn’t be giving the world an FR-S turbo (or convertible). But prepare to be even more upset: if Toyota won’t build an FR-S turbo, that probably means Subaru won’t build a BRZ STI either. If you know anything about the joint project, Toyota and Subaru have practically been bickering since the day it came out. First it was over a convertible. Then it was over a four door. Then over a turbo version. And again over a second generation of the car. While Toyota wants one thing, Subaru wants another. And vice versa. RELATED: See Photos of the Subaru BRZ STI Concept
But with that recent report from LA, that means that Subaru likely settled on not building a turbo BRZ either. Confusing, to say the least, considering a BRZ STI would probably be a hot commodity.
For now, this is all just speculation. Reports are flying in left and right regarding both cars, and no one knows exactly what is going on. Toyota and Subaru are probably just as confused.

The only thing anyone really knows is that the Toyobaru twins are great cars. As for the future? We’ll just have to wait and see ...
