Watch a Lamborghini Rev Until it Catches Fire
It’s amazing the effect a few extra cylinders have. A Lamborghini driver in London was recently flexing the vocal pipes of his $400,000 Aventador LP700 when its V12 engine coughed up more than just a spit of flames. The overzealous revving caused part of the rear bumper to catch fire and prompted the driver to attempt to put it out by fanning, blowing on, and perhaps even spitting at the flames. Unsurprisingly, none of those methods worked. RELATED: Own your own sick Lamborghini Aventador (R/C that is)
So the driver took off down London’s Sloane Street, albeit narrowly squeaking by a cab, hoping that the addition of speed would extinguish the flames. According to the UK’s Daily Mail, the heat finally met its match further down the road when a helpful pedestrian came to the driver’s aid with a bottle of water. Somewhat shockingly, the rear accent that was torched reportedly only costs a mere £79 ($125) to replace.
The Lamborghini in question has been a notable competitor in the recent Gumball 3000 rally, and regardless of the incident – at the end of the day, this guy still owns a 700-horsepower V12 Lamborghini. So there's that.
