An Electric Morgan Threewheeler Might Actually Happen
It was back in 2011 when Morgan first unveiled its Threewheeler sportscar. While it's unlike pretty much every other car on the road, it's about to become even more unique with the possibility of an all-electric version. The current Threewheeler is unique not only for its three wheels instead of the usual four, but for its motorcycle engine that sits right up on the front rather than being hidden beneath the hood. It makes for quite a statement as you cruise through the countryside on a sunny summer day. PHOTOS: See More of the 2011 Morgan Threewheeler
It's proved very popular, despite it's odd design or maybe because of it, with nearly 1,400 of them being produced by Morgan to date. This success is part of why Morgan is now considering an all-electric version of the vehicle.
Details on exactly what kind of motor would power this new car haven't been revealed, but there's a possibility that Morgan could choose to manufacture something in-house. Whatever they do is also likely to change the look of the car quite a bit since that front-mounted V-twin engine gives it a lot of its character and it'll have to go.
