Mopar Delivers a Few Offbeat Offerings for SEMA
It's going to be a battle of Detroit's Big 3 at SEMA next week in Las Vegas. Mopar, representing the FiatChrysler brand, has announced plans for a 15000 sq. ft. display that includes some jaw-dropping vehicles in its lineup. The Mopar lineup includes Jeep, Dodge, Fiat and Chrysler products reimagined for the SEMA perspective. Frankly, there's an ugly duckling or two. But hey, nobody's perfect. Here's a look at a few in the SEMA lineup. (We already wrote about the Viper ACR Concept.) RELATED: See more photos of the Ram 2500
Ram 2500 Outdoorsman
Here's a truck for when you feel like heading deep into the woods – but not sleeping on the ground. Three utility hoops used on past SEMA show vehicles as ladder or surfboard racks are reinvented as a camouflaged bed tent, providing shelter or extra storage space for gear. Elements pulled from the Ram Sun Chaser 2013 SEMA show vehicle include a concept Mopar roof rack and the concept “Flip-Up” seatback tailgate, which converts into a two-seat bench by folding back toward the cab.
The Ram 2500 Outdoorsman sits on Mopar concept 17-inch, eight-lug bead lock wheels, which are capable of dealing with challenging terrain, especially when coupled with aggressive 35-by-12.50-inch R17 Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 BFGoodrich tires. Mopar’s fender flares at the front and rear provide a muscular impression, and the Ram 2500 Outdoorsman can roll with anything thanks to a Mopar leveling kit and Bilstein shocks.RELATED:

Jeep Renegade Frostbite
OK, lets consider this Jeep to be the antidote to everything macho about Mopar and SEMA in general. This cute ute would get laughed out of Moab. Heck, it would get laughed out of Hello Kitty.
Maybe it's that aqua blue we're so visually allergic to. The Frostbite is trimmed in white with aqua blue wheels and an aqua blue grille and mirror caps and Katzkin pearl seats dressed in aqua blue. That same aqua blue hue also fills the perimeter around the doors, as well as the outline of the gearshift and vents. It's enough to make you aqua hurl.

Ram ProMaster Hospitality Van
OK, Ram promotes this as an office on wheels. OK, if that's how you justify it to the bean counters, so be it. It's a party van.
As Ram admits, "Modified specifically for the SEMA Show, the Ram ProMaster Hospitality Van is converted into a mobile lounge and equipped with refrigeration to serve refreshing, ice cold beverages from a large swing-open side panel." Reserve me one for the Super Bowl in Phoenix.
