Can LeBron James Make the Kia K900 Cool?

If you catch LeBron James walking out of Quicken Loans Arena after a game, you might expect him to jump in his late model Porsche 911 Turbo S. Or perhaps his Chevy Camaro SS. The point being – no one is expecting his ride to be a Kia. But get used to it fans. LeBron just signed an endorsement deal with Kia. You should see him cruising around in a brand new 2015 K900 more often than not. RELATED: The 2014 Kia Soul looks more stylish than ever before
Can LeBron James Make the Kia K900 Cool?
According to ESPN, the NBA star rung up Kia out of the blue and asked if he could get a new K900 to drive around in. We can only imagine that Kia couldn’t have said “yes” any faster. After driving it all summer, James apparently liked it so much that a partnership to name him as Kia’s brand ambassador was formed. Though no official dollar figures are being thrown around, and perhaps won’t be disclosed, ESPN business reporter Darren Rovell claims it to be a multi-year, multi-million dollar deal. Oddly enough, the brand-new K900 won’t be James’ first Kia. The Cleveland Cavaliers star has donated a number of Kia vehicles to charity that he has won in tandem with the league’s MVP award. Contractually, he’ll probably have to keep this one around though. Rumors of a partnership began to swirl after James posted the above photo on Instagram late this summer with the caption, "Rolling around in my K900. Love this car!!" prompting some surprised responses. But the whole deal points to the brilliance of LeBron James the businessman. James already convinced McDonald’s to feature the K900 in one of his recent ads for the fast food giant. What an advertising machine. The deal might not push hordes of car buyers to the 420-horsepower, V8-toting K900, but you can bet overall Kia sales won’t be hurting thanks to King James.
