717HP Hennessey Mustang Aims Directly for Hellcat
Looks like those crazy Texans are at it again. Hennessey, the same tuning shop responsible for the lovably insane Venom GT, is now bringing an all-new pony supercar to market. Actually, more like a stallion — the new Mustang HPE700. Of course, you wouldn’t expect just any Mustang, would you? This one comes fully loaded with 717 horsepower thanks to a supercharged version of the Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V8. If you’re keeping count, that’s 10 more than the 707 horsepower found in the new Challenger Hellcat. RELATED: Check Out More Photos of the 2015 Hennessey Ford Mustang HPE700
Hennessey says those 717 ponies will rocket you to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, on to a quarter mile of just 11.2 seconds at 131 mph. Even more impressive, though, might be the price.
Starting at only $59,500 (including the base Mustang GT), Hennessey’s latest creation has its sights set dead on the Challenger Hellcat, which starts at $58,995. Anyone shopping in that price range now has a seriously tough decision to make.
