Amazing ETV Space Ship Kit Car Sells for $71,000
I have a confession to make: I am a slight space geek. Not enough of a geek to speak Klingon, but enough to name most of the members of Rogue Squadron. Which is my way of saying that I really, really want the Mike Vetter ETV. For those that don’t know who he is (I was among that number until a few minutes before writing this), Vetter is a kit-car builder who likes to do crazy things with rides like the Porsche Boxster or Toyota MR2. In this case, he’s built a car called the ETV (extra-terrestrial vehicle, but of course) that looks like something out of a classic Hollywood space movie. The ETV is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged Chevy engine and uses an adjustable air suspension to conquer speed bumps and steep driveways. The doors open scissor style. Front and rearview cameras help with outward visibility and parking maneuvers.
It’s a neat looking thing, but it wasn't cheap. It was originally listed on eBay for $89,000, but some lucky buyer ended up walking away paying only $71,000 for it. Hopefully thier going to put this lovely space craft to good use.
