Ferrari 458 Speciale A Goes 200MPH Without a Roof
Ah, Paris. The city of love, the city of lights, the city where some brash Italians are taking their tops off and flashing the entire world. Obviously I’m talking about Ferrari and the new 458 Speciale A (for Aptera, or, open top).
Where the standard 458 Speciale lacks in toplessness, the 458 A makes up for it. A convertible top and 597 horsepower make this already impressive track toy even more so. And good news is only a little bit of weight has been added, about 110 lbs (50 kg).
As mentioned, the 4.5-liter V8 pumps out 597 horsepower, which gives way to a 0-60 mph time of just about 3 seconds flat and an estimated top speed of just over 200 mph. Inside, it doesn’t differentiate much from the standard Speciale coupe, either — plenty of carbon fiber, performance seats, and knobs and switches aplenty. Ferrari hasn’t given us a price on this wonderful looking machine just yet, but you can expect it’s going to be a pretty penny more than the already pricey $300,000 458 Speciale Coupe.
We’ll know all the details when it makes it world debut at the Paris Motor Show next week.
