Infiniti Gives Sneak Peek of the Q80 Concept
As the world counts down the days to the 2014 Paris Motor Show, a few manufacturers are giving teasers as to what they will present this October. Infiniti is one such brand. It has released a picture of a flagship sedan, called the Q80 Inspiration. The photo only shows the rear, but if the front looks anything like the back, it could be the most striking car to wear an Infiniti badge yet. The most notable elements visually are the teardrop rear glass that runs up to a full-length panoramic glass roof, its smooth taper from roof to tail, and the suicide rear doors. Its dimensions are 189.9 inches in length, 79.8 inches wide and 53.1 inches tall with a wheelbase of 122.2 inches. RELATED: Infiniti Planning 700HP Sedan
As for the interior, Infiniti claims there will be plenty of leather, carbon fiber and aluminum, but there are no specific details yet. What's going on underneath all the luxury is a bit of a mystery as well, although there should be a hybrid-electric unit and "advanced adaptive suspension."

The Infiniti Q80 Concept is of course just that, a concept. Any production version will likely be very watered down, and it's possible that it won't be produced at all. What its biggest use will be is instead as a combination of design and styling cues to draw on for future Infiniti models, and this car looks like it will have plenty of cues to provide. It is called the "Q80 Inspiration", after all.
