Is This The Sound of a Manual Jaguar F-Type At Nürburgring? [Video]
The 2015 Jaguar F-Type comes with your choice of a 3.0 liter 340 horsepower V6, 3.0 liter 380 horsepower V6, 5.0 liter 495 horsepower V8 or 5.0 liter 550 horsepower V8. What it does not come with is a choice of transmissions. Your one and only option is Jaguar's 8-speed Quickshift ZF transmission, so those yearning for a manual option are out of luck. If this video is to be believed, that might be about to change. PHOTOS: See More of the 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe
This video captured by Gumbal shows a Jaguar F-Type zipping around Nürburgring, tires squealing on every turn. You not only hear the tires, but the engine, and Gumbal says that it is clearly the sound of a manual transmission. We'd like to think we have decent hearing, but it's still hard to say just what kind of transmission the car is hiding.

The guys at CarScoops did some detective work and pulled the available information on the car's license plate which revealed only that it's powered by a 3.0 liter V6. That doesn't prove anything, but it also doesn't disprove the notion either. Rumors abound that Jaguar is working on a manual transmission for the F-Type and even all-wheel drive, so anything is possible.
Turn up the volume, give it a listen, and you tell us if this is the automatic we know, or the manual we'd all like to meet.
