Porsche Cayman GTS Drifts Around a Go-Kart Track Like a Boss [Video]
Go-kart tracks, by definition, are tight and twisty circuits meant for one vehicle and one vehicle only, go-karts. But try telling that to Porsche. The Germans took their latest and greatest mid-engine sports car – the Cayman GTS – to a go-kart track in northern Italy, and frankly the results speak for themselves. The Cayman makes mincemeat of the tight chicanes, showing very little body-roll, and when prompted by the driver, gets its tail out in wonderfully controlled slides. We wouldn’t mind putting the car’s 340-horsepower soundtrack on repeat, courtesy of the Cayman’s 3.4-liter flat-six that produces 340 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque. Of course, with Porsche being Porsche, the 911 has always been the company’s premier sports car in both performance and price. While the latter remains true, the performance of the Cayman GTS (starting at $76,195) and Boxster definitely make a case for buying your next Porsche on a budget.
