Watch this Six-Speed Camaro Break a World Record [Video]

In the same way that drag racers argue over the best car, the topic of manual versus automatic transmissions usually presents itself on the strip, with most choosing the later. This video might change a few minds. On July 27th, at Muncie Dragway in Albany, Indiana, this quick-shifting F-body Camaro owner broke the quarter-mile world record for six-speed GM cars. Specific, yes, but nonetheless impressive. When the lights went out, the driver dumped the clutch and shot through the gears to bag an 8.63 second quarter-mile pass, crossing the line at 158mph. The blue F-body in question sports a turbocharged 6.0-liter V8 truck engine that puts out around 1,100-horsepower, shuttled to the rear wheels through an RPM T56 six-speed manual. Enjoy the record-setting pass (and wheelie) in the video below; bear in mind it’s only his ninth or tenth quarter-mile with that tune: RELATED: Check out photos of the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS
