Dodge Charger Hellcat Coming with All 707 Horses On Tap
If you thought the Dodge Challenger Hellcat was insane, wait ’til you get a load of this. Like its two-door sibling, the Dodge Charger sedan is likely going to get a Hellcat option by sometime early next year, with all 707 horses at its disposal. The report stems from Road & Track, who were snooping around in SAEJ1349 Hellcat certification, only to realize that the new engine didn't just cover "2015 MY Dodge Challenger 6.2L SC SRT," it also covered “2015 MY Dodge Charger 6.2L SC SRT." The “SC,” of course, standing for supercharged. PHOTOS: See More of the 2015 Dodge Charger
It's about as close to definitive proof as it gets. With the Hellcat attached and 707 horsepower on tap, that would make the Charger the most powerful American sedan in existence. As for the possibility of a manual gearbox, it's not likely. Considering the new Charger has never used a manual in the past, we're not sure why Dodge would switch it up just for this. They might need to borrow an automatic from the RAM truck division to handle all that power, though.
Either way— yay! Hellcat Charger!
