Hot Wheels Roll Out the Darth-mobile for Comic-Con
If you’re a diehard Hot Wheels fanatic, you’ll know that the Star Wars brand has never officially graced Mattel’s die-cast realm. We did not know this, and that surprised us. But relish in that little factoid no longer, because that’s all about to change at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con. Hot Wheels has turned Darth Vader’s infamous black lid into a car, which will go on sale to visitors of Comic-Con in July. If you plan on attending the San Diego event, this die-cast “Darthmobile” can be yours for the low-low price of just $40. RELATED: Check out this 2013 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition
Also up for sale at the Mattel booth is “The Homer”, a futuristic vehicle inspired by The Simpsons ($30), and James Bond’s iconic Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger ($20).
The Darthmobile comes conveniently packaged in a Sith lightsaber carrying case, and foreshadows an all-new lineup of Star Wars toys from Mattel. We hope a die-cast Lando Calrissian hatchback and Yoda pickup truck follow suit.
