Best Son Ever Buys His Dad A '57 Chevy For His 57th Birthday
With Father’s Day coming up this weekend, you might be trying to come up with the best gift idea ever for dear old dad. Sadly, you’re too late. Mike King of Louisville, Kentucky definitely deserves a “Son of the Year” award after he recently surprised his dad with a ’57 Chevy Bel Air sedan for his 57th birthday.
The unforgettable father-son moment was all caught on video, which caught the 57-year-old father being brought to tears at the sight of the teal and white ’57 Chevy sitting in the garage. Incredibly, the most touching part of this story isn’t the fact that King gave his dad the car, it’s the fact that he promised to do so when he was just 8 years old. As a young kid, King said he wanted to give his dad the ’57 Chevy for his 57th birthday, and he kept his promise. There are plenty of emotions in the video including a big smooch for the Chevy's roof.
King actually had the car for two years before waiting for his dad’s 57th birthday, and now the two get to have fun doing some work on the car. From the video, the ’57 Chevy Bel Air seems to be in pretty good shape, but King said that it needs work. It’s not clear what type of restoration this car needs, but he set up gofundme account to help raise the estimated $10,000 it will take to get the car in perfect shape. So far (as of this posting), he has received donations totaling close to $2,000.
