Boston Neurosurgeon Arrested Going 118 mph in an Audi A8
In "Not so Smart for a Doctor" news, a neurosurgeon at Tufts Medical Center in Boston was arrested on Sunday, after he was picked up by police traveling nearly 120 miles per hour on a highway in New Hampshire in a 2011 Audi A8. Adel M. Malek, 48, of Weston, Massachusetts, was traveling on Interstate 89 South in Grantham, N.H., at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, when police clocked his vehicle traveling at 118 miles per hour in a 65-mile-per-hour zone, according to the New Hampshire State Police. PHOTOS: See More of the 2015 Audi A8 According to the Boston Globe, Trooper Peter Hurkett stopped Malek and took him into custody for reckless driving, from which he was later released on bail.
Malek is the chief of the division of neurovascular Surgery at Tufts Medical Center, and a professor at Tufts University Medical School. In 2012, he was named "Top Doctor," by U.S. News & World Report, and in 2011 was selected to "Boston Super Doctors.”
