So you’ve finally grown weary of playing Angry Birds, and after losing several hundred dollars on high-stakes games of Words with Friends, you’re burnt out on that game too. It’s called Mini Metro, and it allows you to be in charge of the cutest little subway system. The premise is that you start with three subway stations, and have to draw the subway lines that will connect these stations. Once connected, the trains start running on their own. The only problem is, the city is constantly growing, and you will have to change the lines and add stations to facilitate the burgeoning population of mass transit users.

The game has a minimalist aesthetic that looks like a subway map come to life. Right now the game is available to play online. It will eventually be offered for PC, Mac, Linux (Because folks at the NY stock exchange need to kill time too), iPad and Android tablets in the near future. We played it briefly and could see where this would be the next great addictive online game. Now if only people could get as excited about using public transit!
