Mobile Home Office? The Self-Driving Car will Change How We Work
Will the self-driving car be your office of the future? One company envisions a world where our autonomous cars will be our mobile places of work, and has developed a concept car that might be a glimpse into your office of the future. According to Fast Company, Regus is a company that operates nearly 2,000 global business centers, and knows a thing or two about the ways that people work. On Monday, they showcased a concept for an autonomous car with two swiveling seats that turns your car into a mobile meeting place with seating for four. The concept is based on a Tesla Model S, and was modified with help from Rinspeed, who has been known for very drastic and wild concept cars. This project however, focused on the interior ergonomics, including the rotating seats.

There is no promise that this car would make it into production, but can serve as a way to read public reaction and test what elements of this concept would be feasible from a production and regulation standpoint.

As someone who travels often, this is a terrific idea. I love to drive on my own, but I also value any time where I can sit down and get work done. Swiveling seats or not, I look forward to the ability to open up a laptop and get work done while sitting in traffic– letting the autonomous car deal with the traffic while I am being productive. Concepts can only serve to improve the efficiency of the workforce.
