What is 'Feral Parking'? Apparently one of Rome's Biggest Problems
When you think of Rome, you might think of the Colosseum, the Forum, winding streets and spaghetti. Those winding streets mean that drivers in Rome need tiny cars to get around. There are now too many tiny cars and they are choking the flow of traffic in Roma. One twitter account is apparently out looking for parking justice. According to the BBC, Rome’s traffic police has a new boss; Raffaele Clemente. One of his first orders of duty was to set up a twitter account, @PLRomaCapitale, which allows Romans to tweet their parking grievances. One of the things they are encouraged to tweet is sosta selvaggia, or “feral parking.” RELATED: Photos of the 1960 Fiat 600 Multipla Taxi

A city of 2.6 million is enough of a task to handle, but when 70 percent of those citizens have cars, it makes for a parking headache. Romans pretty much park wherever they want and few places are off limits. Romans can tweet examples of bad parking at the new twitter handle, and if the location is given, the police can actually take action.
It is an innovative new way to take on traffic congestion, and the people of Rome are apparently responding well. Though Romans are not big twitter users, the handle already has more than 4,000 followers. So think before you park illegally in Rome– lest you be labelled a “feral parker” and face the wrath of Rome’s parking twitter maids!
