Dog Chews Through UK Man's Aston Martin
It is generally understood that dog is man’s best friend, but even the best of friends have their spats. That might explain why a dog chewed through the fender of his owners prized Aston Martin DB9, causing thousands in damage and earning the dog a one-way ticket to new owners. Royston Grimstead is a builder from Somerset, UK. 15 months ago he earned enough for a used Aston Martin DB9 Volante (Aston-speak for “convertible). Grimstead said one day, he came home to find Luce, his border collie spaniel mix, had chewed through the wheel arch of his prized Aston. The UK man was distraught.

The dog had caused £3000 ($4,880) in damage, which will be covered by insurance. But that was enough for Grimstead to ship off Luce, who had apparently not been getting along with this other dog. According to the report from DailyMail, Grimstead had already considered sending Luce away:
“She must have overheard me talking about re-homing her,” said Grimstead, “because she's normally friendly and never really chewed on anything before.”

A dog behavioral expert was asked to weigh in on the situation. She said that it was unusual since Luce had not chewed through anything before, but that dogs left home with issues will start chewing through things. Maybe Grimstead should have left a few car-shaped chew-toys lying around.
