Brilliant Mind Behind: Thebian Concepts
The one thing we love about concept cars, is the amount of beautiful idealism that goes into each and every project. With no restrictions, artists often find themselves the subject of acclaim, showing off their wild and outrageous rides to millions of curious onlookers. One of these artists is Maher Thebian of Thebian Concepts — a Lebanese design student who specializes in the fantastical. Ferrari, Lamborghini, and BMW — just to name a few — have all been the subject of Maher’s work. So we wanted to take a moment to pick his brain and see just what goes into each one of his pieces:
Q: How did you first get interested in designing concepts?
A: I have been designing cars since I was young, maybe 6 years old. It's a talent, and ever since I have been sketching and refining my cars on Photoshop. But for me, I like to work beyond the perfection and realism level, so I decided I must shift to 3D work, which I always adored, and got my 3DS Max software and started to learn it on my own, creating my concepts from zero, following my sketches as reference. Of course, with some updates here and there.

Where do you draw your inspiration?
Inspiration has no limits, but I like what God crafted so usually from living beings.
How long does a concept take you from start to finish?
Regarding time, it's not constant, but approximately 10 days.
What kind of cool designs are you hoping to work on this year?
I am interested in tuning some cars, and upgrading some models, alongside a fresh creation for a Mercedes supercar and a Ferrari beast.
