Shelby GT500 Shooting Brake is Ridiculous Yet Enticing

There's usually something about the shooting brake — adding a wagon end onto a usually sporty vehicle — that gets enthusiasts hotter than three dollar pistol. Like the Corvette Stingray before it, the Shelby GT500 is the latest to get the large-booty treatment, courtesy of yacht builders Strand Craft. According to Strand Craft, this one-of-one Shelby GT500 station wagon will come with 850 horsepower and manage a 0-60 mph time of only 3.3 seconds via a supercharged 5.5-liter V8. That's about 188 horsepower more than the standard GT500, and with added rear rear cargo room. Inside, you'll find a healthy heaping of leather, Recaro seats (of course), and a 1,000-Watt, seven-channel audio system. Rumor has it that this custom pony car is nothing more than vaporware (aka, not actually going to be built). But if it is the real deal, it's set to go on sale sometime in April of next year to one lucky owner for an undisclosed amount. PHOTOS: See More of the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake Widebody
