WaterCar Panther Is the Perfect Amphibious Vehicle For Mountains and Sea

In the past, we’ve showcased some very cool amphibious vehicles. The ability to drive right down and into the water and keep going has captured the imagination of motorists for years. But those water-going automobiles were sometimes limited by their chassis, making them capable of floating, but a little tough to drive on the road in most conditions. That is no longer an issue with the WaterCar Panther; an amphibious vehicle built to take on the open water as well as the trail. The Panther has apparently been in development since 1999, and was not ready until recently. It is powered by a 3.7-liter Honda VTEC V6 engine, making 250 horsepower, and propels the Panther up to speeds of 38 knots. On land, the Panther is capable of reaching 80 mph, and features an-off road suspension for trail use. The Panther can go just about anywhere and commands princely MSRP of $135,000. Customers in Dubai have already ordered a number of these vehicles, and six Panthers are going to one buyer alone! PHOTOS: See More of the 2013 WaterCar Panther
