NISMO Watch Connects Man With Machine
Plenty of supercars, concepts and debuts of all kinds are being unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show this week. Thus, an all-new watch debut may seem a little odd amongst all the new cars, but that was the new model on display at the Nissan booth. The NISMO Watch Concept is a marriage of human interaction and machine is that is claimed to improve the driver’s performance and efficiency. Employing a solid wristband design and available in three colors (black, white and red), the NISMO watch connects the driver to the car, using real-time biometric data. RELATED: 2013 Nissan Juke NISMO The watch will monitor the average speed and fuel consumption, track performance, as well as your heart rate. The timepiece connects to the car via Bluetooth, and can even receive specially tailored messages from Nissan, including warnings about driving conditions.
The watch works only with NISMO versions of Nissan vehicles, and Nissan claims that the watch can even monitor your driving the way that the automaker monitors the biometric performance of its own drivers.
No word yet on pricing or availability, but as automakers scramble to tie themselves to ever-evolving mobile technology, this will not be the last feature of this nature that we see marketed to the world.
